Maranoa Regional Council is planning for the future — and we want everyone to have their say in Shaping Our Future. This means updating our Corporate Plan and doing a progress check-in on our Local Plans, to make sure the Maranoa stays a great place to live, work and do business.
Our current Plans were developed with Councillors and the Maranoa community in 2018. While these Plans have helped us to create a strong, vibrant and connected region, we are excited to take a closer look at our priorities to make sure they reflect future opportunities and the changing needs of our residents.
As a well-known regional centre for agriculture, tourism, specialised sports, and energy and resources, we need to build on these strengths while exploring new opportunities to grow the region in a sustainable way. Long-term planning is key to unlocking Maranoa’s potential.
We want to hear from you as part of this important process and there are a number of ways you can have your say:
By completing this online survey
By having a conversation with your Local Area Director
By attending a Councillor community meeting.
By speaking to Councillors and Council staff at the Roma and Mitchell Shows, happening 12-13 May and 15-16 May, respectively.
Keep an eye on Council’s website and social media channels to find out when a Councillor meeting is happening near you, or email council@maranoa.qld.gov.au to find out more.

The Corporate Plan will set out the priorities for Council’s operations and services in the Maranoa region during the next five years, while the Local Plans set out Council’s priorities for each local area.
Council is responsible for services including water, sewerage, rubbish, local roads, community events and recreation facilities such as parks, swimming pools and libraries.
Your feedback will help us to plan Council’s operations and services during the next five years.
The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
